Summer news

¡He vuelto, queridos Whateverianos! Después de más de un mes completamente perdida sin rastro de internet, por fin vuelvo a la civilización (para el que le interese, he estado por aquí), y con ello a mi amado mundo de las series. Como es verano, las noticias seriéfilas escasean en esta época, pero aún así he estado un buen rato intentando ponerme al día. Para aquellos que estéis tan perdidos como yo, aquí va lo imprescindible para entrar en septiembre con buen pie.

I'm back, Whateverians! After more than one month being completely out of reach and without Internet, I'm back in the civilization (if you are interested, here is where I've been) and in my beloved series' world. Being summer, there haven't been many news, but I have spent a while trying to catch on with the world. For those of y0u that are as lost as I was, here are the most important things to start September as if you had been logged in all summer. 


Para empezar, los Emmy. Incluso yo me he enterado, así que dudo que vosotros no lo hayáis hecho. Breaking Bad, como era de esperar, arrasó en los premios, llevándose los Emmy a mejor actor (Bryan Cranston), mejor actriz secundaria (Anna Gunn), mejor actor secundario (Aaron Paul) y mejor drama, así como mejor guión para el capitulado de Ozymandias. En comedia se llevaron los premios Modern Family y Jim Parsons como siempre, y en mini series Fargo, Sherlock y AHS. La única merecedora de premios que se fue con las manos vacías fue True Detective, pero le salió mal la jugada de intentar competir con la gran Breaking Bad. Aquí os dejo el video que seguramente todos habéis visto ya de Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul y Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep) promocionando los Emmys.

Let's start with the Emmys. I seriously doubt you haven't heard anything about this. Breaking Bad, as it was expected, was the biggest winner of the awards: leading actor (Bryan Cranston), supporting actor (Aaron Paul), supporting actress (Anna Gunn) and script for Ozumandias. In comedy, Modern Family and Jim Parsons were the winners as always, and in the miniseries, Fargo, Sherlock and AHS. The only one that deserved it and that went home without any awards was True Detective, but it is the price they paid for challenging Breaking Bad in the drama category. Here's a video that you have probably already seen in which Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep) promote the Emmys. 




Hay una noticia que me ha llamado más la atención que el resto. HBO junto a Paramount están trabajando para convertir la película Shutter Island en serie, que se llamará Ashecliffe (que es el nombre del psiquiátrico) y cuyo piloto será dirigido por Scorsese. La serie será una precuela de la película, en la que nos contarán el pasado del hospital y los secretos que conlleva abrir un psiquiátrico a principios del siglo 20 en el que se llevan a cabo experimentos para el tratamiento de los pacientes. 

HBO and Paramount are working together to transform the film Shutter Island into a series that will be called Ashecliffe (this is the name of the mental hospital) and the pilot will be directed by Scorsese. The series will be a prequel to the movie, in which they will tell us the background of the hospital and the secrets involved when opening a mental hospital in the beginning of the 20th century in which there are experiments for the psychiatric treatment. 

Y ahora, empecemos con los teasers y promos de las temporadas que se estrenan en el próximo mes. La primera en comenzar será la cuarta temporada de Homeland el próximo 5 de octubre, en la que después del famosísimo final de la anterior temporada dará un giro argumental bastante radical - no le queda otra, vaya -: Carrie Mathison es enviada por la CIA a Oriente Medio para una peligrosa misión, mientras que Saul entra en el sector privado de investigación. Aquí os dejo la promo y el teaser que tienen bastante buena pinta, más que las anteriores temporada de Homeland.

And now, let's start with the teasers and promos of the new seasons that will start in the following month. The first one to start will be Homeland on the 5th of October, which after the famous season finale of the third will have to make a radical plot twist: Carrie Mathison in sent to Middle East by the CIA while Saul starts working in the private sector. Here's the promo and the teaser, I've got a very good feeling about this next season of Homeland!



La cuarta temporada de AHS Freak Show se estrena el 8 de octubre y ya han salido los títulos de los primeros episodios y los dos primeros teasers, que como suele ser costumbre dan mas miedo que luego toda la temporada completa.

The fourth season of AHS Freak Show will start the 8th of October and we already have the first episode titles and the first two teasers which, as always, are more scary that the season itself.

La siguiente en empezar será The Walking Dead el 12 de octubre - tiempo en el que yo tengo todavía que decidir si me merece la pena o no darle una quinta oportunidad a esta serie -. Han salido ya varios teasers que os pongo a continuación, pero supongo que no sorprenderá a nadie el hecho de que no desvelen nada o casi nada, así que aún habrá que esperar para que nos muestren algo decente los de AMC. 

The next one to start will be The Walking Dead the 12th of October - I have until then to decide if this series deserved or not a fifth opportunity -. Here are the teasers that have been already broadcasted but, as always, they don't reveal much, so we will have to wait a little bit longer to see something worthy. 









Y cómo no, Doctor Who. No se si habrá alguien sobre la faz de la tierra que no se haya enterado todavía de que Peter Capaldi es el nuevo doctor y que ya ha empezado la nueva temporada, pero por si acaso os lo recuerdo. Aún no he tenido tiempo para verme los dos capítulos que han sido ya emitidos, pero en cuanto lo haga os pondré aquí mi impresión del nuevo doctor, que por muy buena que sea ya sabéis que en mi cabeza solo resonará un "pero no es Tennant...". 

And of course, Doctor Who. I don't know if there's anyone that hasn't heard yet that Peter Capaldi is the new doctor and that the new seasons has already started, but just in case I remind it to you. I haven't had time yet to watch the two episodes that have been broadcasted, but as soon as I watch them I will tell you what I think about the new doctor, but I know that it doesn't matter how good he is cause deep down I will be thinking "but he's not Tennant...".
