Let's start from the basics: if you haven't read the book A Storm of Swords, this is a huge SPOILER. You've been warned! One month ago exactly, I posted in the blog that Lena Headey, the actress that plays Cersei Lannister, might have posted a major spoiler on her Instagram account, since she made a photo of a heart made out of stones. Of course, the photo went viral and all the fans were completely sure that it was a mention to Lady Stoneheart and that it would be the scene that ended the finale.
Well, if you have watched the last episode, you have seen that no, that scene doesn't appear at all. Was the actress trolling us? It would be really appropriate of Cersei to do it, but till the moment the actress hasn't told us anything. Nevertheless, the director of the last episode (Alex Graves) has tried to explain her absence in an interview with Vulture and Entertainment Weekly.
As it seems, Lady Stoneheart was never supposed to appear in this season: it hasn't even been discussed with the show runners. Graves is completely sure that it was the best decision, as he "explains" it:
"To bring back Michelle Fairley, one of the greatest actresses around, to be a zombie for a little while -- and just kill people? It is really sort of, what are we doing with that? How does it play into the whole story in a way that we’re really going to like?"No se a vosotros, pero a mi personalmente me asusta incluso esta declaración.
Well, I don't know what you might think about this, but I'm quite scared with his interview. Not only they didn't even think about it (being the only thing that hasn't been told in the series of A Storm of Swords), but they believe the character doesn't fit in the story. Taking into consideration everything they've changed the books, I'm more convinced than ever that it is very probable that Lady Stoneheart character doesn't ever appear in the series. If you don't think she fits in the story, discuss it with George R. R. Martin, you f***ing show runners.
